Psalms 102

Prayer of an Afflicted Man for Mercy on Himself and on Zion.

A Prayer of the afflicted when he is weak and
Ps 142:2
pours out his complaint before the Lord.

1 bHear my prayer, Lord!
And let my cry for help ccome to You.
2 dDo not hide Your face from me on the day of my distress;
eIncline Your ear to me;
On the day when I call fanswer me quickly.
3 For my days ghave ended in smoke,
And my hbones have been scorched like a hearth.
4 My heart ihas been struck like
Lit herbage
grass and has kwithered,
Indeed, I lforget to eat my bread.
5 Because of the
Lit voice
loudness of my groaning
My nbones
Lit have cleaved
cling to my flesh.
6 I resemble a ppelican of the wilderness;
I have become like an owl of the ruins.
7 I qlie awake,
I have become like a solitary bird on a housetop.

8 My enemies rhave taunted me all day long;
Those who
Or made a fool of
,
tderide me
Lit have sworn by me
have used my name as a vcurse.
9 For I have eaten ashes like bread,
And wmixed my drink with weeping
10 xBecause of Your indignation and Your wrath;
For You have ylifted me up and thrown me away.
11 My days are like a
Lit stretched out
,
aalengthened shadow,
And
Or as for me, I
I acwither away like
Lit herbage
grass.

12 But You, Lord,
Or sit enthroned
,
afremain forever,
And Your
Lit memorial
,
ahname remains to all generations.
13 You will aiarise and have ajcompassion on Zion;
For akit is time to be gracious to her,
For the alappointed time has come.
14 Surely Your servants
Or have found
take pleasure in her stones,
And feel pity for her dust.
15
Or And
So the
Or Gentiles, heathen
,
apnations will fear the name of the Lord,
And aqall the kings of the earth, Your glory.
16 For the Lord has arbuilt up Zion;
He has asappeared in His glory.
17 He has atturned His attention to the prayer of the
Or naked
destitute
And has not despised their prayer.

18
Or Let this be written
This will be awwritten for the axgeneration to come,
Or And
That aza people yet to be created
Or will
may praise
Heb Yah
the Lord:
19 For He bclooked down from His holy height;
bdFrom heaven the Lord looked
Lit toward
upon the earth,
20 To hear the bfgroaning of the prisoner,
To bgset free
Lit the sons of death
those who were doomed to death,
21 So that people may bitell of the name of the Lord in Zion,
And His praise in Jerusalem,
22 When bjthe peoples are gathered together,
And the kingdoms, to serve the Lord.

23 He has broken my strength in the way;
He has bkshortened my days.
24 I say, “My God, bldo not take me away in the middle of my days,
Your bmyears are
Lit in generation of generations
throughout all generations.
25 “In time of old You bofounded the earth,
And the bpheavens are the work of Your hands.
26
Lit They themselves
Even they will brperish, but You endure;
All of them will wear out like a garment;
Like clothing You will change them and they will pass away.
27 “But You are
Lit He
,
btthe same,
And Your years will not come to an end.
28 “The buchildren of Your servants will continue,
And their
Lit seed
,
bwdescendants will be established before You.”
